International Citizenship...

OK, so I know that technically there's no such thing. But at the same time, sometimes I think it's very very very cool that I know people from around the world. Nora from Finland, and Louise, who are both at St A's (though I won't be able to visit in the new year, much to my dismay, *snif*), Philby in Australia, friends and relatives scattered throughout China, international students from all over Europe, South America, Africa and Asia... It's mind-boggling! And how much of this is made possible by the internet and university, I can't imagine. Probably lots of it is made possible by these things. Without them I'd be a lot harder pressed to communicate with everyone.

Like today, Nicolas and I talked for a few hours over MSN while I went over his application letter for a year of exchange in London. I'm so excited for him! Much as I wish he'd come here to *Canada* as we are oh-so-much-cooler-than-thou, London's closer to his family and his Emilie, lol. It's so cute, they've been together forever. Man. Good for them. Anyhow, he's checking his letter over with his English teacher in a couple of days and then we'll look over it again and submit it.

Also, I'm thinking that Kavya and I will someday journey to India and I shall be privileged with the sights, sounds and oppressive heat of such a fascinating country! How extraordinary that we're even in a position to consider such things. I have so many places in this world that I want to go to and visit, to see and experience. Even the bad experiences give a great story to tell, perhaps except for instances of prolonged hospitalization and permanent maiming. That would suck. Still... I want to see India, to see the Himalayas, to see the fields, the temples, the bustle, the colourful dress... Oh god I'm afraid of the heat though. Terrified. I'll melt into a puddle at the airport. Good thing I'm not going to try and find a husband -- nobody would be able to approach me for the sweat. Jesus! :-\

Still. How neat is this? That in this day and age I can travel to all these places, and meet all these people, all these things we may never have been able to do even 50 years ago. Wow.

WOW.

WOW!! :D
